Leisure Builders in Morpeth & The North East
We are builders in Morpeth, and Newcastle Racecourse has had us back for a number of jobs. Leisure builders in Morpeth, to us, means building, refurbishing and repairing the places people go in their spare time: racecourses, sports facilities, golf clubs, cricket clubs, hotels, restaurants and pubs, across Northumberland and the North East. The work has to fit around the days the place is full. Fully insured, with a 5 year guarantee, and the people on the job have over 100 years in the trade between them.

Newcastle Racecourse
Newcastle Racecourse, in Gosforth Park, has had us back for a number of jobs. One was the East Lodge, where old walls were repaired and rendered, broken roof tiles were replaced and a new flat roof went on. A racecourse checks a builder out before letting them on site, and every job there is planned around the race days. The review from the racecourse is below.
What we build and repair
New buildings.
Design and construction from the site survey and drawings, through the planning application, to the build itself. If you have an architect's drawings, we work from those.
Extensions.
A bigger bar, a new function room, more changing rooms, or an external covered area for spectators and outside tables.
Fit-outs.
Bars, kitchens, toilets and showers, with the mechanical and electrical work done by our own trades.
Dilapidation work.
A leased building put back to the condition the lease asks for.
Reactive maintenance and repair.
Roofs, render, plumbing, doors and floors, put right when they go.
Working around a venue
A hotel has guests in the rooms above the bar we are refitting. A club has a match on Saturday. A racecourse has a meeting with thousands through the gate. We ask at the start what has to stay open and which dates are fixed, and the programme is written around them. Noisy work goes in the quiet hours. The site is hoarded off, cleaned down and safe to walk past at the end of every day. If a date moves, ring the office and we move with it.
The same people who do the houses
The team that does a leisure job is the team that builds our house extensions: Neil, James, Davey and Ben. That is why the plastering and tiling in a clubhouse gets the same finish as a kitchen in Ponteland. There is an interior designer on the team for the finishes in a bar, a restaurant or a hotel room. 5.0 from 19 reviews on Yell and 5.0 from 7 on Google, and we ask every customer for one at sign-off.
How a leisure job runs
Ring the office or send the form with the site, the deadline and what has to stay open. We come out and look, measure up and ask the awkward questions early, including where the vans go on a race day. You get an itemised written quote, no pressure to sign. A start date is agreed, the team turns up on it, and one person is your contact from the first call to the snag list.
