Fitted while the shop keeps trading, where it can.

Retail Building Services & Shop Fitting in Morpeth & The North East

We are builders in Morpeth and we fit shops. Retail building services and shop fitting in Morpeth and the North East, to us, means the shopfront, the interior, the fixtures, the lighting, the back of house and the repairs, done by our own trades so a fit-out is one firm to deal with. New units, refits of shops that are trading, and the shopfront on its own. Fully insured, with a 5 year guarantee, and the people on the job have over 100 years in the trade between them.

A fit-out from an empty unit

An empty unit comes with a shell and not much else. We take it from there: the layout marked out on the floor, the partitions and the stockroom, the wiring for the tills, the lighting, the flooring, the ceilings, the counters and shelving, the toilet and the staff room, the decoration and the fixing of the signage. If the unit needs a new shopfront or an entrance moved, that is the same job. If your brand has a fit-out specification, we build to it. There is an interior designer on the team for the finishes if you do not.

A refit while you trade

Most shops cannot shut for a refit. We ask at the start which days and hours you trade, what has to stay open and where the stock can go. Then the work is split into stages, with the noisy and dusty parts out of hours and the shop floor screened off and cleaned down before you open. Fire doors and emergency lighting are work we have done for one customer, and they go in while the ceiling is open. When the last stage is done the screens come down and the shop is yours again.

Shopfronts, turnarounds and repairs

A shopfront is the part of the building your customers see first and the part the weather gets at. We replace or renew shopfronts, entrances and fascias, and repair the brickwork and render around them. If the front has been damaged, ring the office and we will make it safe and then quote for putting it right. Estate agents and landlords use us to turn a unit round between tenants: strip out the last fit-out, put right what the lease requires, decorate and hand over a clean shell. Dilapidation work at the end of a lease is the same job from the other side. After the fit-out, doors, floors, toilets, roofs and render all go eventually, and we do reactive maintenance and repairs for shops we have fitted and shops we have not, one job at a time or as part of a planned programme. The commercial builders page has the rest of what we do for commercial property.

The clarity and detail of the quotes, the quality and timeliness of the work and the important communication throughout the process were exemplary. They happily accommodated changes that we requested and even once the work was completed Simon promptly and positively dealt with queries that we had.
